Professionally:

I am Truman High School’s Special Education teacher. My teaching license includes k-12 Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as having my Masters of Science in Special Education. I earned both my Bachelors and Masters from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have taught in the Truman school district since the fall of 2013. Since the fall of 2016, I have been working in the district as an Intervention Specialist. I am also on the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) team. Prior to teaching, I worked as a paraprofessional in another school district with preschoolers for several years as well as working with 9-12 grade students with disabilities. While in college, I worked with adults with disabilities. This profession has become a passion for me!

Personally:

I live with my husband Monte,  who is an RN and our cat Smokey. We have 3 children; Maggie, Annabelle, and Gabe. My oldest daughter lives in Wisconsin, works as an RN and is engaged to be married to a great guy named Andrew. My other two children attend college at my alma mater, living on campus and sometimes back home with us. Annabelle is the cheer coach for Maple River High School and Gabe is busy with anything that has to do with playing music! When I am not at work, I like to spend time with my family, read, help in the garden, and read:~)
