Hello, I am Jan Ringeisen.  I have been teaching at Truman Public Schools for 34 years.  During this time I taught preschool, fourth grade, kindergarten, third grade, first grade, and second grade.  The majority of my teaching experience has been in first grade.  I have also been the high school student council advisor and play director.  I have enjoyed working with the students that have come through this district.  In addition to my other hats, I also have been trained in Orton-Gillingham through the Reading Center in Rochester.  This training certifies me to tutor individuals with dyslexia.  I truly believe that this approach works well for all children.

I am married to Ross, who has worked as a customer service manager for Schwans for over 20 years.  We have lived in Truman for 27 years, and have three daughters.  I am proud to say that the girls grew up in the Truman school district and graduated from Truman.  Krista is a 4th grade teacher in Osceola, Iowa and is married to Brad (assistant baseball coach at Graceland University); Amy is a registered nurse at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and is married to Blake Crosby, a 5th grade teacher and coach.  Our youngest daughter, Katie, is a  Rad. Tech doing CT at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

During my spare time, I love to spend time with family and friends.  I enjoy being outdoors whether it is in my yard or at the lake, walking/running, reading, and listening to music.  Ross and I also enjoy traveling.
